It is one of our largest rescues yet and is a true representation of the magic that can happen when rescues work together!!

Now that it has gone off without a hitch, we can now reveal the details of our "Special Ops Mission" which was to welcome TWENTY FOUR beautiful Puppy Mill Survivors to DRSF from Amelia, OH.

This massive rescue was done in partnership with Animal Rescue Fund in Ohio who works some special ops themselves in helping many dogs start their lives over after puppy mills.  When ARF had a chance to help a number of doxies, they got in contact with DRSF and the operation was under way.

A van was rented, crates obtained, supplies ordered and shipped, and the mission was a go. Our driver drove straight through to Ohio, stayed overnight for a good nights sleep, and the nest morning got everyone loaded up, and drove straight through back with his precious cargo.

Dr. Bruce's Animal Hospital was on board to be the first stop to welcome our 24 new fosters!  President Pam, Transport Whisperer Joanna and Transporter Margot were on deck to get everyone cleaned up after a long ride.  The next step was even more transport drivers were lined up to take groups of dogs to Pet Medical Center of Boca, Dr. Wemen's Animal Hospital, Bravo Animal hospital who had made room to help us where they will all be examined, get any care they need, and will be then be spayed.

At a low estimate of $350 per dog for vetting and supplies, we are on the hook for over $8,000 not counting travel expenses and we have fingers and paws crossed that our community agrees that each and every single one of these sweethearts was worth it!

Would you consider a donation of any size to help us make 24 happily ever afters?  As always, even $1 helps get us closer to our goal and we can't be DRSF without YOU!!
