Hello Everyone,
Thanks for visiting my Fundrazr page! I am very excited to be participating in Aprons for Gloves this year. I have seen many of my friends go through this process over the last few years and have been absolutely amazed at the personal progress that each of them have made. In 3 months I've seen them change shape, change perspectives, and through a great non-profit organization, change the lives of many young people in Vancouver.
I started boxing this past September as a way to just get in shape. I had no idea the impact it would have on me. After a couple of classes which had me close to vomiting, I finally found an activity which makes me feel mentally and physically sharp. I set a pretty aggressive weight loss goal in January, and due to the training and a change in diet, I lost 30lbs in 3 months. My self-confidence sky-rocketed. As i learned more about the sport of boxing, I wanted to progress my skills as a way to get a better full body work-out. When the Aprons for Gloves registration popped up on my social media, I knew exactly what my next challenge would be--to train for the next 3 months like a pro-fighter in hopes of getting a fight and challenging another contender in the ring.
With all that said, it is very important for me that you all understand that this campaign is not for me. Yes. I want to get a fight at the end of the day, but there is also a goal to raise as much money for the Aprons for Gloves Boxing Association. All of the information about the program is down below. Please read it to make sure you know where your generous donation is going.
In order to qualify for a fight, I not only need to train my ass off, but I need to reach 3 fundraising goals.
June 1st: $500
July 6th: $1500
July 20th: $2000
And so I ask you, friends, family and strangers that have found this page, to help me reach my fundraising goal. Some of you may be unable to donate--and that's OK. I appreciate the time you have put in to read my story. I do ask that you please share my page and story with those close to you who may want to donate. Every little bit helps.

Founded in 2012, Aprons for Gloves Boxing Association is a non-profit organization focused on providing community outreach through the sport of boxing. Based in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, the organization was developed by a small group of professionals and entrepreneurs who seized an opportunity to re-establish a historic boxing program for at-risk women and youth. The program offers free mentorship and training to individuals who may otherwise not have the resources or support to participate in such activities. The sport of boxing teaches discipline, respect, hard work and self-control. Training results in positive self-esteem, good health and camaraderie for its practitioners.
Restaurant Rumble 2018
Every year bartenders, chefs, dishwaters, servers, baristas and all sorts of individuals from the Gastown community get together to train at the Eastside Boxing Club to fight in Restaurant Rumble.
In order to attend training, each fighter is required to raise $2000 for charity before they can compete at the Rumble.
