The Chu Crew is walking in Burnaby hasn't added a story.
I started working for International China Concern in November 2004. My eldest daughter was 18 months old when I started. That same daughter just graduated from high school!
Since the beginning of ICC's work in China in 1993, the focus has been caring for children with disabilities who have experienced abandonment. We still do that work today.
In 2008 we piloted a project to see if we could get into contact with families who had a child at home with disabilities so we could support them and therefore prevent abandonment. It was successful. This aspect of our work, ICC's Family Partners Program, is where the future of ICC is heading.
We have been asked by the Chinese government to reach out to 7000 families who have a child with a disability in the city of Changsha. ICC is taking the next step in our journey to transform the lives of children with disabilities in China. It's a God-sized vision and an amazing opportunity.
Our Walk the Wall event is a huge part of making this vision a reality. Will you help us move closer to reaching the goal of serving those 7000 families over the next 5 years? When you support ICC, you’ll be providing life-changing opportunities for literally thousands of young people.
How can you help?
1. Walk with us. Register to walk with our team "The Chu Crew" and then contact your network of friends and family and ask them to support you by making a donation.
2. Make a donation, big or small, to support the Chu Crew as we walk.
God-sized visions are accomplished one step at a time. We're prepared to take the next step. ICC Canada hopes to raise $200,000. Our team is hoping to raise $5000 of that total.
Will you help us achieve it? Will you take the next step?
I really hope you will. It will make a massive difference to these families AND if you donate today your donation will be matched $ for $ by some friends of ICC.
Thank you for your consideration,
The Chu Crew
