Jesko Guiang hasn't added a story.
Who?
My name is Jesko Guiang and this is my first time participating in AFG. Representing both the Royal Westminster Regiment Canadian Armed Forces and Haides Parlor I am excited to share this great cause with you. I've always had the urge to want to always help, to make a difference, to make an impact in someones life and what better way to do that by helping fundraise for something I believe in. I am constantly motivated helping others find their why.
Why?
Fearing failure is really feeling a possibility. A thought in your head that may or may not occur in the future. It’s not real. It’s your imagination. Just like us, the youths in our community fear failure. Fear the possibility of being neglected. Just like us, the youths in our community have dreams. Dreams to live a happy and successful life. Just like us, they deserve the same opportunity to live the life they want to live. AFG raises money for the after-school programs that run through the Eastside Boxing Club, and these programs benefit youths in our community. All donations will go towards supporting at-risk women and youth in boxing so that they can find an opportunity in partaking in their own personal growth and journey.
On July 26th 2018, I, Jesko Guiang will be participating in a fight with a purpose of making a difference. A difference in allowing people who may feel inadequate to live a meaningful life, to assist them in re-evaluating their purpose and why they deserve the opportunity to fight for their lives the very same way boxers fight for their life in the ring.
Failure is not the end of your story. It is the start of your come back story. Let’s all come together as a community and make these dreams come to a reality.
What?
Founded in 2012, Aprons for Gloves Boxing Association is a non-profit organization focused on providing community outreach through the sport of boxing. Based in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, the organization was developed by a small group of professionals and entrepreneurs who seized an opportunity to re-establish a historic boxing program for at-risk women and youth. The program offers free mentorship and training to individuals who may otherwise not have the resources or support to participate in such activities. The sport of boxing teaches discipline, respect, hard work and self-control. Training results in positive self-esteem, good health and camaraderie for its practitioners.
Opportunity to be part of something GREAT.
I'd appreciate every bit of your support, encouragement, tough love, and partner training throughout the next 3 months.
Please share this page, any and every donation is greatly appreciated and goes towards the youth programs.

Restaurant Rumble 2018
Every year bartenders, chefs, dishwaters, servers, baristas and all sorts of individuals from the Gastown community get together to train at the Eastside Boxing Club to fight in Restaurant Rumble.

In order to attend training, each fighter is required to raise $2000 for charity before they can compete at the Rumble.
