If you have made it this far you most likely have clicked on the link trying to figure out what crazy thing Emily is up to this time (:

Before you read on I would encourage you to click on the video above and watch a few minutes of the treacherous Alcatraz !

I have qualified for the 2018 Triathlon Age Group Nationals Championships, the BOSTON MARATHON and Escape from Alcatraz triathlon, this summer!!! My 2nd place finish at

Buzzards Bay has given me a spot in the Age Group National Championships in Ohio this summer.

What make this race so difficult you ask? First, you can only be a competitor through a lottery (Alcatraz) drawling. Secondly, you must have a proven strong swimmer record due to the swim portion being so treacherous. Triathletes sometimes wait years for their name to get picked, but with a bit of luck and a lot of hard work I am now presented with a great opportunity. Yes, it’s big and over the top. Yes, this is the ultimate test because of the unique conditions and course layout. If you are willing to help in any way, I want you to know how much it would mean to me. So many of you have supported me financially and emotionally throughout my athletic career. I could not have accomplished all that I have if it wasn't for the finical support and being on "Team Emily". I know everyone has busy lives, expenses and dream plans of your own. I thought my big competition opportunities were behind me for a while due to my need to focus on grad school

To catch you up quickly on what I am doing-

I’m a full-time graduate student at Lesley University and will be graduating May of 2018, with a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health. Currently I have an Internship at Justice Resource Institute. My focus is: In-home therapy and trauma work with children in the foster care system. I also work full-time as a server. I am currently a part of the Boston Triathlon Team and the Cambridge Running Club.
