Our Play Day was a HUGE SUCCESS! Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to this event, we cannot thank you enough for your support. The Syrian families who joined us for the day were able to have fun, play and truly enjoy themselves!

Play is one of the most necessary and beneficial tools to begin the healing process for children who have experienced trauma. Friendship in Action (FIA) is partnering with The Children's Discovery Centre (CDC) to offer newcomer Syrian families the opportunity to play, have fun and feel welcome in their new home!

FIA is a registered Canadian children’s charity dedicated to developing empathy and social-emotional intelligence in young children. The CDC is a space specifically designed for children encouraging free and imaginative play.

We are offering this day free of charge, as well as providing food and transportation to ensure that there are no barriers preventing families from being able to join us.

We aim to raise $10 per guest to support this goal, with a target of 30 families or 150 people. All money raised will go towards making this day a success. All extra funds will be used to provide other essentials our families may need, such as toiletries and diapers.

If the response is significantly greater than needed for this event, we will organize another event at the CDC to reach out to even more families and provide more children with the opportunity to play.

Please give generously and share this with friends and colleagues who might be interested in welcoming these families and supporting our event!
