The UK's First Charity Art Car - A vehicle for awareness of domestic abuse.

Repair, Redesign, Ride... against abuse.

The bad karma impala, the UK’s first Charity Art Car to help victims of domestic abuse, is a creative social enterprise project that aims to deliver awareness of domestic abuse and raise funds for charity Solace Women’s Aid. Rather than raise money directly for Solace Women’s Aid, artist Imogen Paton hopes to be able to provide a continuous source of income for the charity, by renovating and re-upholstering a rare 1968 Chevrolet Impala which will then be hired out for public and private events. On completion, 100% of the rental profits from this unique art-car will be donated directly to Solace Women’s Aid, creating a grass-roots source of funding.

A series of events will raise both funds towards the renovation, and awareness for domestic abuse victims through unique art auctions of donated work.

Imogen Paton will be working alongside the mechanics from “Dream Cars” to restore, renovate and re-upholster the unique Bad Karma Impala.

The project has high running costs as we have to store the car and truck it to and from awareness and fundraising events, using it for public art and engagement purposes. Although we give our time for free to make the project possible, we rely on public contributions be it through the purchase of a piece of donated art or through independent donations. Please help us rebuild this symbol of hope for victims of abuse and support the crucial work of Solace Women’s Aid.

Thank you for ditching a beer and donating here!
