I was diagnosed with ductal carcinoma — a type of breast cancer — on August 1, 2025.
Within a few weeks, I underwent surgery that included two lumpectomies and the removal of three lymph nodes. Lab results dictated that I would need 16 rounds of chemotherapy and 20 radiation treatments followed by indefinite hormone therapy.
This journey has been one of the hardest chapters of my life, but also one filled with strength, love and an incredible community of family and friends that carry me through every single step.
From the very beginning, I made a decision: I wasn’t going to
let cancer take more than it already had. I found ways to turn each
chemo treatment into something meaningful — countdowns, themed days,
moments of laughter and reminders to keep moving forward — even on
the hardest days...
moments of fear, exhaustion and uncertainty. Conversations about
the next phase of treatment sometimes begin before the previous
round is even complete. Some days feel overwhelming.
But I keep going because I'm not doing this alone.
My family is my foundation. My children give me strength in ways I can’t even put into words. Their love, their honesty and their belief in me remind me every day why I keep fighting.
My husband stands beside me through it all — every appointment, every setback and every moment — never once letting me feel like I am facing this alone.
My mom, who battled breast cancer herself just six years ago, is a constant by my side — this time cheering me on. She showed me what strength looks like long before I needed to find it in myself.
And then there are the countless friends, family members and supporters who lift me up — through messages, meals, prayers and constant encouragement. You remind me every single day that I am surrounded by love.
I've also experienced firsthand what the incredible care and compassion within the cancer community looks like. From the nurses and volunteers who make each visit more bearable, to programs like the Transition to Betterness Dr. Michelle Prince Comfort Care Tote Program — which provides comfort and support from day one of treatment — make a lasting impact through their selfless acts of kindness throughout this journey.
Cancer is not something anyone should face alone. And because of all of you, I don't have to.
On March 9, I completed my final round of chemotherapy — Round 16.
What once felt impossible became reality.
My journey is not over but I move forward stronger, supported and filled with hope.
This fundraiser is not just about me — it’s about giving back, supporting others facing their own battles and continuing the cycle of care, compassion and hope.
If you’re able to contribute, share or support in any way, I would be so grateful. It truly means more than words can express.
Thank you for being part of my journey.
And to anyone facing something difficult:
Keep going. Keep fighting. Keep moving forward.
