Hi Gang.  This is a very special plea from our hearts to yours on this very special day, Betty White’s 100th Birthday.  

We would like you to meet Francine, a very abused little dachshund.  Betty would cry with us as we tell you about Francine and her journey to DRBC.

Francine

Not long ago we were contacted by the Saratoga County Animal Shelter in NY with a plea for a little dachshund that had been purposefully and savagely beaten and abused to within an inch of her life.  This is Francine’s story. 

Francine rode along in the truck with her father, if you want to call him that and as they drove she became nervous and had an accident.  He was infuriated.   He threw Francine through the window of the truck while in motion, but the pain did not end there.  He pulled over got out of the vehicle and went over to Francine and began beating and kicking her.   The inhumanity of his actions is appalling.   Onlookers came to Francine’s rescue, called the police, and rushed this little girl to the shelter for help, but the damage was done.

Multiple fractures to both sides of her pelvis, broken pubic bone and broken legs accompanied the cuts and bruises covering this little girl’s body.  Veterinarians worked to save her and with plates and screws in place the shelter reached out to DRBC for the remainder of her recovery.

Here at DRBC the abuse has ended for Francine and with your support today her pain will come to an end as well.  We promise a life of love to this precious little doxie and with your help the proper rehabilitation to make it a pain free and functional one. 

Brownie

All to often our beloved breed is struck by IVDD, Intervertebral Disc Disease and last night on the eve of Betty’s special day, Brownie was rushed to Red Bank in desperate need of surgery.  The snow did not stop us from getting him the best care and surgery for our group is an exception, but it is life changing and needed for Brownie.

Have you ever wondered what that takes?  Bloodwork, radiographs, MRI, surgery and hospitalization all add up to al almost $9,000 bill.  Nothing is free to the rescue. Without support from kind hearted people like you Brownie will never walk again and in fact, if left unattended him may die.  Please consider him and make a difference today.
