I never jumped rope as a kid, but I started teaching myself a few months ago for some exercise variety. Then when "shelter in place" hit I bought my very first jump rope so I could do it as a simple, home-based workout.

My challenge for May is that each day, I'll jump rope 5 times the day of the month. So 5 consecutive times on the 1st, 10 consecutive times on the 2nd, all the way up to 155 consecutive times on the 31st. If I mess up, I have to restart that day's challenge from 0.

For fun, I'm giving myself a special variation each day: do it on 1 foot, or alternating feet, or in a costume, or during a Zoom, or blindfolded... AND of course, all with different theme music.

To raise money for CATCH Health at Home, I'm asking for a sponsor for each of the 31 days of May, $1 per jump (so a multiple of $5 from $5-$155). Each day I'll make a video of me doing the challenge, giving a shout-out to the sponsor, and undoubtedly looking like an idiot. I have never done ANY of these before so it's all uncharted territory and I expect to mess up a lot.

On May 5, 2020, CATCH is celebrating # GivingTuesdayNow by kicking off our month-long CATCH Good Health Challenge , an initiative to bring good health to communities everywhere, while unlocking funds to support our in-school and online K-12 programs.


Our goal is two-fold: to make good health viral and to raise $10,000 by May 31st so we can continue reaching youth across the country with health education via our and Health at Home platforms. 


The first $2,500 raised through the campaign will be matched by a generous pool of donors!


To meet this goal, we need your help! 


You can sign up today to participate in the CATCH Good Health Challenge and become an advocate for health equity by committing to do some - or all! - of the following activities: 

  1. SHOW Good Health: Each week, we’ll feature an activity from the Health at Home platform that you can do at home with your family or virtually with your wider community. Complete the activities daily OR you can create your own health challenge to do throughout the month! Share your experience on social media by tagging @CATCHHealth and using the #catchgoodhealth hashtag.

  2. FUNDRAISE for Good Health: Register to host an online fundraiser for CATCH  and blast your campaign page out to your friends and family. Once you register, we'll send you a fundraising kit with tips and tools to make your campaign a success.  Each person to raise $500 will win a free subscription for the school of afterschool program of their choice!*

  3. DONATE to Good Health: Make an online contribution to CATCH in honor of CATCH Good Health. For example, a donation of just $50 will allow us to reach 100 students. 

At CATCH, we believe that all kids deserve healthy environments, and we know that we can create those healthy environments anywhere - whether at home or in the classroom. Our programs are FUN, effective, and they address whole child health.
