Team Ted- EH Bears hasn't added a story.
Going to the hospital can be scary stuff - especially for a child! Teddy Bears Anonymous provides every child that is admitted to our hospitals the "gift" of a new teddy bear to keep them company and help make the experience more "bearable." Team Ted-EH-Bears truly believes in the positive impact that these teddy bears have on children and the hospital experience. As parents, aunts, uncles and friends we want to put a smile on a little ones face and turn what can be a negative experience into a positive one!
Teddy Bears Anonymous was founded in 2008 by Luke Lawrence in honor of his daughter Erin who passed away from a very rare form of gastric cancer - Hereditary DIffuse Gastic Cancer. It was Erin's love for life and compassion for sick children that inspired the Teddy Bears for Sick Children Program. Each teddy bear is cello sealed and sterile to ensure the health and safety of the children and can even be taken into surgeries. Teddy Bears Anonymous is a 100% volunteer operated team dedicated to making sure Saskatewan's Urban and Rural hospitals have access to our special teddy bears!
Currently there are ten hospitals and several Rural Community EMS in Saskatchewan that belong to the Teddy Bears for Sick Children Program. You can find our program in Regina (2 hospitals), in Saskatoon (3 Hospitals), Yorkton, Moosomin, Wynyard, Oxbow and Rosetown along with Balcarres and Indian Head EMS. Teddy Bears Anonymous is going to be the official supplier of teddy bears for the Jim Pattison Children's Hospital in Saskatoon!
To date we have supplied more than 113,000 teddy bears to hospitals in Saskatchewan for sick children. Every $4.00 raised buys a bear for a sick child. Please help us put a smile on a little ones face!
Charity Championship
Presented by Casinos Regina and Moose Jaw
Casinos Regina and Moose Jaw are passionate about giving back to the communities in which they operate. By hosting the Charity Championships, the casinos are supporting numerous charities and non-profits through philanthropic donations, and bringing people together for fun and fundraising with the aim to build a better community for our friends, family and future.
Here's What our Team is Doing
We are competing against other charity crusaders to be the champions of our charity! On August 11, 2017, beginning at noon, we will sprint, jump, bounce and climb our way through a giant, 100 foot long inflatable obstacle course. Click here to view the course we will be competing on.
Also, come cheer us and the other teams on while enjoying the beer gardens, a BBQ, and crowd prizing!
The top 16 teams will win the cash prizes below:
Here’s where the help of our friends comes in! The more money we raise, the more time we get taken off of our total obstacle course run time:
Here's How it Works
Round 1:
All 44 teams will race against the clock to complete the 100 foot obstacle course. Once each team completes the course, their corresponding time advantage will be taken off their finishing time. Teams will be placed in first to last place based on their readjusted time.
Round 2:
The top 16 teams will each take a piece of the $25,000 prize pool home in Round 2. Teams will compete in a bracket style tournament and will be seeded in the bracket based on their standings in Round 1. Time advantages will be applied to the second round as a head start before the other teams. The fastest teams in each bracket will move on until the last four teams are left standing!
Winners of the semi-final matches will play each other to determine 1st and 2nd place, while the losers of the semi-final matches will play each other to determine 3rd and 4th place.
Bonus Prizing
There are additional team cash prizes to be won, all of which can be donated back to our charity of choice:
1. Top Fundraising Team - $1,000: This prize goes to the team that raised the most money through their FundRazr team page.
2. Best FundRazr Profile Video or Picture - $750: This prize goes to the team that had the most creative and capturing video or profile picture on their FundRazr page, as voted by the Charity Championship Organizing Committee.
3. Best Team Costume and Spirit - $500: This prize goes to the team with the best attitude, costumes, and sportsmanship, as voted by the Casino Regina volunteers.
4. Team Bonus Cash - Three (3) x $500: A draw will be conducted after the awards ceremony for three (3) x $500 cash prizes. At least one member of the team must be present to win.
