Sweet Zorro passed away last Thursday. His large hospitalization bill remains placing an added burden at a difficult time. If you would like to donate in memory of Zorro it would be most appreciated. Thank you so much for following his life story! Connie

Connie's Cat Sanctuary is solely self funded. Sometimes extraordinary veterinary expenses are associated with the care of these senior kitties with medical problems. When it occurs, I reach out to my animal loving friends to ask for your kind donations. This helps me continue the labor of love I do, providing lifetime sanctuary for these abandoned, elderly and ill kitties. These are cats that have been dumped by owners when they got older and needed supportive end of life care, to finish out their lives with love in a secure home.

That brings me to Zorro who is now in the hospital. His story is so sad. His owners brought him to a vet to be euthanized earlier this year because of his older age, "can't walk" and "doesn't use the litter box". The vet didn't think he was 20 years old like they said and felt he wanted to live. He got them to sign him over to him. He kept him for 3 months but realized Zorro was not adjusting to his work schedule and felt he would be better in a home where someone was home more. So, he began looking for a home on Facebook with the help of another animal loving friend. They tried for a couple months to find a home, but no one wanted an older, pre-diabetic, arthritic and overweight kitty. Then I saw the post on a group page at the end of May and said "I'll take him". He is just the type kitty I accept at the Sanctuary.

Zorro is a very sensitive kitty. The stress of the moves may have caused him to go into liver failure. Vets also suspect cancer. He needs hospitalization for a couple days, lab work, more tests and surgery to place a feeding tube. Each hospital day costs almost $100. He has to get stabilized before they will do the surgery. Your kindness to donate for Zorro's vet bill will be so appreciated!
