It's spring at the farm and that means lots and lots of extra expenses. Not only are there projects galore but the vet needs to come to give the rescue animals their yearly vaccinations and worming (which costs around $2K). The feral kittens we took in late last fall, need to be neutered and Bill, the miniature horse is finally ready to be gelded (castrated. He's a slow bloomer!) There's fencing to put in and maintenance work needs to be done on the barn, current fencing and outbuildings and paddocks. We are hoping to raise $5k to help meet these costs and to make it possible for us to get these essential projects done.

Mathew and I have been busy! If you've been watching our YouTube Channel (which was made with all of our followers in mind to help you stay updated) you will know how hard we've been working. Not only have we put in a new pond for the ducks but built them a wonderful “duck tower” in which to live. We still must finish the attached pen and put in fencing for them, but soon they will have a beautiful new area to enjoy - especially, our handicapped ducks, George and Abigail.

Nimueh, our rabbit, who had to have two surgeries (more expenses) done on her femur bone (she broke it due to thumping. Rabbit bones are quite fragile) is finally healed and been given the thumbs-up. We are so happy she survived and is slowly learning to hop again. We let her out for short periods every day where she can do her "physical therapy." Sadly, we lost Pim, her "husbun" due to old age. He died peacefully in Mat's arms (simply fell asleep), and we know that the angels came and took him safely home. However, that was very sad for all of us as he'd been here for many long years. Mostly, it's been heartbreaking for Nimueh. She's had a long, rough patch.

Our work here is so important, not only to all the rescue animals who reside here and depend on us (and all of you), but as a social institution. Our message about compassion for animals needs to be heard and carried wide (another reason for our new YouTube channel – PLEASE SUBSCRIBE >>> and help spread the word.) We demonstrate on a physical and social platform just how beautiful each one of these animals are and that they deserve to be loved and properly cared for.
