Hi! My name is Tanelle. I am a 33 year old paraplegic woman who
founded the charity, RAD Recreation Adapted Society. RAD Society helps
individuals living with, or aging into mobility challenges, continue
to play outside independently as long as possible by providing
adaptive devices that allow one to do so, while raising awareness of
inclusion in all types of recreation.
The Trek2Tuk4Kids is growing into a destination event, the most
northern gravel Gran Fondo that has individuals walking, running, or
cycling 150km from Inuvik to Tuktoyuktuk, YT. This is the second year
of the trek. Growing it from the first year when three people took
four days to walk the new Tuk Highway to the Arctic Ocean to raise
money for the two local indigenous schools.
RAD Society was approached to lead the inclusion of a team of
adaptive athletes who wish to cycle in the world's first ever adaptive
gravel Gran Fondo.
The money raised will be used to fund the cost of each adaptive
athlete's participation (their adaptive handcycle rental and
maintenance, travel, accommodation and event registration, which
includes two meals and the donation for the local schools).
Let's work together and contribute to get the team of 7 disabled
athletes participating in the world's first ever adaptive gravel Gran
Fondo. Share this exciting campaign opportunity with your friends and
family as we work together to make history and the lives of the people
who have never known this to be a reality.
