Please meet Dolly - a 10 yr old very obese senior who was surrendered to a full shelter because " She was too fat and didn't want to move much anymore". He signed her over to be euthanized.
After assessing Dolly the shelter assessed her to be healthy, other than fat and thought they would give her a few days to perhaps get adopted.
Nobody came for her.
When I saw the post Dolly was what we refer to as  "urgent" possibly being on the euth list for that day. Thank you Brandi at Apple Valley Animal Services for helping us execute this rescue...once we knew she was ours
we scrambled and with the amazing help of Larissa Wohl, Debbie Bloom and Laura Scott we were able to bust Dolly out of the shelter and on to her new life...
Because of her weight, and no available transport until the end of April TDIAO will keep Dolly in California, living with Laura Scott , a foster experienced in senior care and dog weight loss.
We look forward to having those extra 30 pounds off and watching this "Dolly" come to life with better health and more energy...
Because medical and general care for Dolly will be in US dollars we are starting a "Donate for Dolly" fund. Please click on this link and help us provide Dolly with the best help possible.
Dolly will be available for adoption in about 4 to 8 weeks
