Drew is an great boy who we suspect has spent his entire life on a chain with no interactions with people or other dogs before finding himself in a shelter and then coming to Dog Days Rescue. He has  no idea how to be a dog and is very leary of being near people. He's not mean or aggressive he is just very nervous and unsure. Drew needs formalized training to learn some confidence, manners, social skills and how to be a dog in general. Please help us give Drew a chance to live a happy life. It's not his fault that his previous "family" failed him.

Ruger was being turned into an animal control facility the day they were closing for maintence. He had been adopted 2 days prior but the couple that adopted him took him to the vet to find out that he is heartworm positive and they simply weren't able to afford to treat him. Lucky for Ruger, we were there picking up several other dogs and absolutely couldn't leave him behind to be euthanized so we quickly loaded him into the car. Upon seeing our vet it turns out that Ruger has advanced heartworm disease, which means that he's been infected for a long time and his treatment will need to be extremely careful and closely monitored. That also means it will be much more costly than the already costly heartworm treatment.

On top of the many other vet needs we are dealing with (regular heartworm treatment, emergency surgeries, etc) we are asking for your help. Dog Days Rescue is a non-profit, no-kill, all breed rescue. Every dollar adds up and helps give these babies the care that they need and deserve.
