UPDATE: Truly amazing! Just was told by Marley's Mutts that there is a donation match $1 to $1 up to $2500 which will allow us to meet our $5k goal! If together people reach a total donation of $2500 (currently that would mean about 65 more donors at $10 each!) she will match it with $2500! This is so so beyond generous and kind! Thank you to everyone who has already donated and been so supportive and thank you to this generous match donor - I think the goal is something we can reach!
Hello! We would like to introduce Lil Zach, our 4-month-old rescue puppy. This survivor was rescued from the Korean Dog Meat Trade where he was being raised for food. These dogs are subjected to a life of abuse and even torture prior to meeting an inhumane death. Rescued by Nami Kim in Korea and was flown 14 hours to land at Marley's Mutts Dog Rescue in Tehachapi, CA. He appeared to be a perfectly healthy, active puppy. Unfortunately, shortly after we adopted Lil Zach last month he was diagnosed with Kidney Dysplasia. He has already required hospitalization, ultrasounds, x-rays, so many blood tests, a special diet, and medications. He is a little fighter and as of now, he is home enjoying all the joys of being a puppy! We have spent over $3,000 in medical expenses and there are more expenses coming - we must run tests again in 30 days to check his levels and maintain his treatment and this group of tests alone will be $495!
When we adopted Lil Zach, no one knew he was sick. We have worked
closely with Marley's Mutts to care for him but his medical bills are
overwhelming, for both our family and a non-profit dog rescue. We all
love him dearly and want to provide care for him the best we can. He
has already survived the Korean Dog Meet Trade, we know he can
survive this!
Lil Zach trudges on, melting people's hearts as he meets them! The
vets feel he can maintain a fairly normal life with treatment and
medications as long as his kidneys don't get worse. We have consulted
with UC Davis (one of the best veterinarian hospitals) and he is under
great care with an amazing local vet. We know Lil Zach can and will
fight this and live the wonderful life he is meant to live! He is a
blessing to all he meets and one of those dogs, as the vet says,
"that just has that something that gets ya!"
He is thriving but he is also the million dollar dog! He will need continued testing and medications throughout his life and, as a family with 3 young children, we know we need help to balance it all. We are asking for any help to donate towards his medical expenses. Any donation will be used soley for the purpose of his care and treatment.
Thanks you for your time!
