The School of Hope's current desks are quite old and in poor condition. Not only are the students uncomfortable while in class, but they are also having a tough time paying attention. I am sure you can imagine how hard it is to listen to what your teacher is saying if you are sitting on a broken, wobbly chair.

The desks in the classrooms of the younger students are not conducive to a productive learning environment. The students' current desks are very small, so there isn't enough room for them to do their work without their books and supplies falling to the floor.

The new desks that they would like to buy are shaped differently so that they can be arranged in a way that supports and encourages group learning (something very beneficial for younger students).

567 children and young adults study at the School of Hope in Guatemala, from kindergarten all the way through to college. The families of their students cannot afford the costs of books, school supplies, transportation, uniform and food.

Without the school, things would be drastically different. 30% of the happy, smiling children come to school from the slums of Vista Hermosa, living in tough conditions on a steep hillside nearby. Without the work of EFTC, their parents wouldn’t have been able to afford to send them to school. The children would have likely joined the 20% of Guatemalan youngsters who form part of the country’s labour force if it wasn’t for the EFTC community.

Help me to raise enough money to provide new desks for three classrooms.

Thank you so much!
