As many of you know, in 2009 I lost my beautiful son, Trystan, to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Since then I've found that pushing myself physically has helped me to heal and learn to get on with my life without my son and in January 2014 I would like to take part in Outward Bound's Summit to Sea hike, a 26-day physical and emotional challenge. I would like to ask for your help in making this a reality, but I would also like to use this opportunity to raise awareness and give something back to the organisation that helped me through the worst parts of my loss. SIDS and Kids helps thousands of families each year, as well as contributing to research to better understand why SIDS happens. My goal is to raise $2,050, which is half of the total cost of the hike ($4,100), but I will donate 30% of everything I raise to SIDS and Kids. If I raise more than $2,050 then all of the additional funds will go to SIDS and Kids. I hope that in doing this, I will be able to continue to move on with my life in a positive way, and that in some small way I can help other families who suffer from the impact of SIDS. Thank you.
