Sea Smart’s school programs provide youth with the life-changing opportunity to explore and connect with our oceans. Sea Smart's programs are action-oriented and solutions-based, providing students with the chance to interact with ocean species, understand the threats they face (like plastic pollution) and take action to help the environment.

What is Sea Smart?

Sea Smart is a Vancouver-based non-profit that delivers year-round shoreline clean-ups, school workshops, after school programs and summer camps. Sea Smart's fun hands-on programs get kids excited about our oceans and empowers them to make the world a better place. In just two years, Sea Smart has educated over 25,000 students as well as become an Environment Canada G7 Task Force national partner in ocean education. Taken together, Sea Smart gives our youth - and future ocean heroes - a life-changing experience that will power ripples of change in the way people interact with, care for and experience our natural world.

How your donation helps?

For every child you send to Sea Smart school, you sponsor a new ocean champion! Sea Smart students learn how they can help endangered animals in their own back yard; from killer whales to basking sharks. Students emerge as experts in ocean conservation and learn every-day habits to reduce their carbon footprint, use less plastic and eat more sustainably.  Even better, the Sea Smart ripple effect spreads within their schools, families and communities!
