I have signed myself up to do the Royal Parks half marathon on 8th October in order to raise money and awareness for Great Ormond Street Hospital, Children's Acute Transport Service, Barnet General Hospital & The Sick Children's Trust

I owe my life to the Paramedics, Doctors & Nurses who saved my daughter Lily's life after she contracted meningococcal septicaemia at 7 months old.

Lily was in and out of consciousness as her body was shutting down, surrounded by doctors and nurses in Barnet Hospital rhesus who were doing everything they could to keep this young baby alive - there was a moment when I took a step back and could see just how lucky we were to have all of these wonderful people who were so dedicated to their job!

They were able to stabilize Lily in order to transfer her to Intensive Care at Great Ormond Street Hospital where she would spend 5 days sedated on a life support machine.

Spending so much time in hospital we realised just how hard the NHS staff work and how lucky we are to have them! I found out how much they rely on donations in order to receive the specialist equipment and resources they need to save lives!

If it wasn't for their quick thinking and fast treatment Lily would not be here today!

Please make this all worth while - I would be so grateful for anything you can spare however small so we can help these charities save lives!
