In August if this year, I decided to Foster Ronnie for a local dog rescue organization. He is a two year old possibly Olde English Bulldog/American Bulldog. We aren't absolutely sure. He fit right in with me and my other dogs. It was a dream come true. When adoption applications started coming in, I couldn't bear the thought of giving him up, or putting him through any more big changes. He'd already been through so much. PLUS, I had fallen in love with his sweet disposition and happy-go-lucky attitude. I decided to adopt him. Unfortunately, when Ronnie was neutered, they found out that he has hemophilia A, a chronic medical condition in which he lacks the ability to stop bleeding like normal people/dogs. An unfortunate side effect of this condition is bleeding into the joints, which is very painful for him. This happened for the first time several weeks ago, and the wonderful people at All Valley Animal Animal hospital took wonderful care of him. Ultimately, they aspirated the blood out of his joint after they found out that's what was wrong, and treated his pain. We had a hefty vet bill from that episode, and now just weeks later, it seems it has happened again. He will most likely need to have that joint aspirated again at some point, and we could really use the help with this possibly ongoing chronic condition. He is well known and loved by all who have come in contact with him, one of the sweetest creatures I have ever known. If you can help, please do. Every little bit helps. Thank you
