Ali is a high school student in her senior year going to Cusco, Peru over the March break in hopes of aiding the less fortunate children living in the neighbourhood of Los Nogales.

She will be working alongside the local organization Helping Hands Cusco, whose mission is to improve the living standards of people in the town. She will be working with the local children and their families, providing them with material support, locally produced food, and education.

Ali is a hard-working student who is passionate about working with children, especially those struggling in developing countries. In 2009, she traveled to a small village in Tanzania with her family to volunteer with children in a local orphanage, caring for their daily needs and providing them with the support they much needed.

Over the years, Ali has accumulated over 500 hours of volunteer service with children in her home community, working with various local organizations.

Her award-winning essay, A Cup Full of Possibilities (p. 287-288), has inspired and encouraged others to consider volunteering in their community as well as helping those in developing countries.

Please help Ali as she continues to follow her passion of volunteering with children. The cost of her planned trip to Peru is approximately $3500, any funds raised beyond this amount will be given to Helping Hands Cusco to further continue their mission.
