About the 2025 Continent 2 Continent 4 Cancer (C2C4C) Ride
The 2025 C2C4C ride in Japan by Bristol Myers Squibb will feature 60 of the company's employees from seven nations cycling from 7-21 October in support of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and selected members in Asia Pacific to raise funds with the aim of accelerating the fight against cancer and facilitating a better life for cancer patients.
The inaugural C2C4C ride was held twelve years ago in the United States as Coast 2 Coast 4 Cancer. Riders in Europe joined the effort in 2016 for the Country 2 Country 4 Cancer, Japan in 2021 and Latin America in 2022 as the Continent 2 Continent 4 Cancer.
The 2025 Continent 2 Continent 4 Cancer (C2C4C) Japan will mark its fifth year with 60 Bristol Myers Squibb employees cycling nearly 1,800 kilometers over 15 days. The event consists of five teams, each riding a 3-day segment. This year's ride will include participants from 7 countries: Australia, China, India, Japan, Korea, Singapore, and the United States.
The mission of C2C4C is to raise awareness for cancer research and for Asia Pacific cancer organizations who are members of the UICC. Since 2021, C2C4C Ride has raised over USD 550,000 for charitable organizations in Asia Pacific.
Raising Funds for Singapore Cancer Society
According to the WHO, Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide, accounting for nearly 10 million deaths in 2020. This is why the team are riding in support of Singapore Cancer Society. Minimising Cancer and Maximising Lives since 1964, Singapore Cancer Society (SCS) is a self-funded social service agency which provides an integrated continuum of care from cancer control and prevention to patient support services, survivorship, and palliative care. SCS’s key programmes and services include cancer screening programmes, public education, financial and welfare services, psychosocial support, survivorship care, rehabilitation programmes and hospice care. Consistently recognised for its commitment to high standards in governance and transparency, SCS has attained both the coveted Charity Governance Award (2023) and the Charity Transparency Award for four years, between 2019 to 2024.
Who Are the Riders
The participants are novice riders, who have committed themselves to 5 months of intensive training to complete their portion of the ride. Some are cancer survivors, others have witnessed the devastating impact of cancer on family and friends. Their kilometers will help raise funds to fight against cancer by supporting the Singapore Cancer Society , a member of the Union for International Cancer Control.
