The Melody Maids Movie project is a feature length documentary film exploring the heroic military contribution of this Teen Singing Group, from Beaumont, TX.
From 1942 -1972, led by High School Music Teacher, Eloise Milam, some 2000 Melody Maids traveled to military hospitals and military bases around the world to offer bedside support and staged performances for nearly 1,000,000 troops.
They also raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for War Bond efforts to support our military over the decades. Shortly after their inception and self-funding efforts, The Melody Maids obtained Official Sponsorship from the U.S. Dept. of Defense, and soon became the top requested performance act for military bases, rivaling the popularity of the USO’s top performer, Bob Hope.
The Melody Maids Movie tells this riveting and inspirational story of these Teen Heroes through live interviews with Living Melody Maids circa 1950-1970, photos, film footage, letters and personal diaries.
