A donation to the Healing Hope Fundraising Brunch is a wonderful way to help raise funds to support the Rouge Valley Centenary hospital's Cancer Care Program and the Jamaica Cancer Society's Mammogram Program.

On December 16, 2011, Ms. Letna was diagnosed with breast cancer. With the help of her family, daughter Yanique and husband Arnold she vowed to fight the dreaded disease with everything she had.

While going through treatment, taking the cancer drug letrozole, multiple surgeries and reconstruction, she wanted to reclaim her life by doing something different. Soon after, the thought of raising funds for the Rouge Valley Centenary (RVC) hospital (her treatment site) was sparked, so she decided to work towards it.

With this goal in mind, she gathered a small group of dedicated people to form the Ms. Letna Healing Hope planning committee and the idea for the Ms. Letna Healing Hope Brunch was born. The first event took place on Sunday, April 7th, 2013.

A donation to the Healing Hope Fundraising Brunch is a wonderful way to help Ms. Letna with her healing process while supporting the Rouge Valley Centenary hospital's Cancer Department and the Jamaica Cancer Society.

Last year the team donated $7,000 to the Cancer Care Program at the Rouge Valley Centenary hospital. Over the last three years Ms. Letna and her team have raised a total of $17,900 for the program and lives were positively affected because of their efforts.

Since 2014, they have also had the pleasure of donating a total of $2,900 to the Jamaica Cancer Society's Mammogram Department. The funds were used towards the Society's free mammogram screening program which helps women in financial need.

Each year attendees hear from keynote speakers on targeted cancer care topics. Thus far, through the annual event, they have helped to raise awareness on breast cancer, breast reconstructive surgery and prostate cancer. This year’s theme will be cervical cancer focusing on prevention and treatment.
