THE CENTRE FOR CHILD DEVELOPMENT is a 'one stop shop' for children with special needs and their families through specialized paediatric psychologists, family service & parent support workers, key workers, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, physiotherapists, early childhood educators, supported child development consultants & teachers, recreation specialists, technicians, a dietician and a Doctor specializing in developmental paediatrics. Our newest program is Sophie’s Place. SOPHIE'S PLACE is a child advocacy centre focused on providing specialized services to physically, mentally or sexually abused children up to age 18 in a child-friendly setting.

The Centre for Child Development uses a local area network based on an outdated Windows 2003 R2 Std server infrastructure.  This server infrastructure is no longer supported by Microsoft. The Centre’s technological needs have grown significantly over the years but the system no longer is able to accommodate such needs. The Center, because of its limited financial resources, has tried to patch things up but with no avail. The server system frequently crashes because of overload and is in dire need of replacement for an efficient use of available technology. It is anticipated to cost the Centre at least $20k to carry out this replacement project.
