Meet Larissa Phouthavongsy, a smart, grateful, creative, soft spoken, kind and eternally optimistic young lady who just celebrated her 21st birthday and recently got engaged.  Like many other 21 year olds, her wish is to finish college, marry her fiancée and celebrate many, many more birthdays!
Larissa also has cancer. On March 28, 2014 she was given three months to live.   At 18 Larissa was diagnosed with cancer.  Today, the cancer has spread to several other parts of her body - most recently to her skull, which is pressing directly on her brain.

Over the last three years, Larissa has undergone chemotherapy, radiation, and 3 rounds of trial drugs.  Unfortunately, her doctors have recently informed her that her body is no longer responding to these treatments. On April 1st, 2014 Larissa had brain surgery to try and slow the growth process of the tumour.  On April 23, 2014 she completed her last radiation treatment.

Our goal is to raise $30,000 by August 2014 so that Larissa can enjoy the best quality of life and access safe, alternative cancer treatments to keep her happy & healthy for as long as possible!

At this time, Larissa has chosen an integrated medical plan that includes working with MDs, homeopaths, chiropractors, and a naturopathic oncologist to help her on this journey.  Many of these therapies and services are very costly and most not covered by OHIP.

Together, we are kindly and graciously calling on all of our friends and family to please donate what you can as soon as you can, whether it is time, monetary gifts, services or knowledge, to help put towards some of Larissa’s health care costs, including alternative treatments, supplements and vitamins.

We truly appreciate all of your love and support, and we will keep everyone posted and updated on Larissa's progress. Thank you for visiting our page and sharing our story.  Let’s continue to spread the love, people!

“Love is not patronizing and charity isn't about pity, it is about love. Charity and love are the same -- with charity you give love, so don't just give money but reach out your hand instead.”
