At the Enabling Rural Opportunity Network (ERONet), our mission is to empower marginalized communities in rural and crisis-prone areas of Northern Uganda. We focus on promoting gender equality, enhancing health outcomes, supporting youth empowerment, and delivering effective humanitarian responses.

Why Your Support Matters

Lamwo District, located in the extreme northern part of Uganda and bordering South Sudan, has faced significant challenges due to prolonged conflict and displacement. The district is home to a substantial number of refugees, with Palabek Refugee Settlement alone hosting over 50,000 individuals, primarily women and children.

The influx of refugees has strained local resources, leading to challenges such as limited access to quality education, inadequate healthcare services, and economic hardships. The situation is further exacerbated by high rates of sexual and gender-based violence, early marriages, and gender discrimination.

• Address Educational Inequalities: We work to tackle education disparities in refugee and crisis-prone areas of Northern Uganda, particularly those bordering South Sudan. By providing educational resources and support, we aim to create equal learning opportunities for all children.
• Empower Vulnerable women Youth: We assist vulnerable women rural youth in acquiring quality, labor market-relevant skills. This includes vocational training and mentorship programs designed to enhance their employability and economic independence.
• Promote Health and Well-being: Our health programs educate girls in underserved schools about their sexual and reproductive rights, health, and hygiene. We also address the harmful effects of early marriages and gender discrimination, promoting a healthier and more equitable society.
