Our Story

The Tony Perri Memorial Golf Tournament is dedicated to supporting Brain Care at the University of Alberta Hospital. Your donation will help advance the treatment and care of patients who suffer from neurological disorders and diseases.

My name is Gene Perri and about 7 years ago my dad passed away unexpectedly due to suffering a massive brain aneurysm.  In midst of the loss of my father, my brothers, mom and I were thinking of a way to honor and remember him and came up with the idea of hosting a golf tournament in his memory.  Golf was a sport he loved to play and was pretty good at as well.  With a lot of help from my family and friends we hosted a successful golf tournament in 2016 of 120 players and were overwhelmed with the support from everyone who attended! We always thought the golf tournament would be a one time event but 5 years later, we'll be hosting our 5th annual tournament!  My family and I are very thankful and grateful to everyone who has attended and supported the tournament and family over the years!  Every year we've raised funds to be donated to the University of Alberta Foundation Brain Center Campaign to help with funding numerous projects and initiatives for brain care.  This year will be no different and am hopeful, with your help, we will be able to reach our goal and donate to a charity that is near and dear to my family's heart in more ways than one.

Our Cause

The University Hospital Foundation’s Brain Centre Campaign has elevated brain care in Edmonton to a level that a decade ago was unimaginable. Yet there’s still more work to be done. Too many brain conditions are still without fast, accurate ways to diagnose, cure and prevent. And without a fully re-constructed neurosciences intensive care unit, our medical teams will be stretched even more to provide life-saving care to thousands of brain patients each year who need nothing less to survive.

World-class brain care is only possible with support from people like you.
