In 2019, my son and I moved back to the NW mountains of NC and moved into an apartment.  I noticed that my health and my son’s health was declining slowly.  In 2020, we found mold in the apartment.  I worked with the apartment management for over a year to resolve some of the mold issues, but I continue to suffer health issues.  I am self-employed and I am often unable to work due to my health.  And because affordable housing is so limited in this area, I have been unable to move my family out of the apartment.

In the meantime, I still need medical treatment for my mold-related health issues.  Unfortunately, my health insurance does not cover this type of health problems.  Because I am self-employed, when I don’t work, I do not make any money.

I have found an environmental doctor (Dr. Michael Bauerschmidt) in Mt. Pleasant, SC, (300+ miles away) that specializes in mold-related health issues.  I cannot afford to see him, however, without some financial support, especially with associated travel costs.

Your donation of any amount will help me see Dr. B with the goal of spending more time with my son, working, and feeling more like myself again. No more chronic fatigue, brain fog, having trouble breathing just walking up 2 flights of stairs.  I want to be able to not have the fear that I will not be here to take care of my son in the future or secure him a safe space.

I will keep you informed of my progress with Dr. B, help educate about dealing with mold-related issues, and my progress with finding a new mold-free home for me and my son.
