Every week we take in doxies in need and every week we are astounded at how these dogs survive in pain having suffered through so much neglect or abuse.  Hank is one of these pups.  An oral-nasal fistula that was one of the largest we had ever seen required special oral surgery, but the extent of his problems does not end there.  Hanks needs a neuter, a routine procedure for any rescue, but we could not move forward as he has a peritoneal hernia.  This is a game changer surgically and financially for Hank.

So, what is a peritoneal hernia?  A Perineal hernia is a hernia involving the perineum (pelvic floor). The hernia may contain fluid, fat, any part of the intestine, the rectum or the bladder.  No matter the definition, the condition can be life threatening for little Hank.  We need to move ASAP and get this corrected.

Today, we are reaching out for your support.  The oral surgery to rebuild his mouth was $2000 and the hernia repair will cost the rescue another $3000.  These veterinary bills add up fast and yes, that is a $5000 total.  Still, Hank needs this support.   Let’s get this done as only the DRBC Gang can… let’s help Hank NOW!

Remember, generous support is desperately needed and greatly appreciated.  Like many non-profit organizations DRBC is a 501[c][3] operated solely by volunteers.  We have been dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, re-homing and educating families about this breed for over 35 years.  We welcome and need your benevolent tax-deductible donation.  Please, help us to help them.

We welcome you to stay tuned for updates.  Until then, Hank, all the rescue doxies and the DRBC Team thank you.
