One by one until there are none...... Mercury is one of 106 dogs rescued from hoarding case in Miami.  One hundred and 6 dogs who flooded the shelter, in need of care, in need of vetting, in need of a 2nd chance.

Many of these dogs were cleared to be adopted by the general public after some basic vetting with a small number needing rescue due to medical conditions.  They are obviously not doxies, but rescue works when everyone does their part.  If everyone gives $1 or take one dog, all can be helped.  DRSF is doing our part and stepping up and taking one dog.  Meet Mercury.

Mercury came through MDAS along with his 105 brothers and sisters.  One by one, loaded into shelter transport vehicles.  One by one taken out and vetted.  One by one determined if they were healthy enough to be adopted, or needed rescue.  One by one gently handed over to the team of groomers who answered the shelter's call for help.  One by one, held and loved as much as time permitted, letting them know that things were going to get better.  All of this took place last night, with the shelter ready to greet the public that was lined up to adopt the healthy ones this AM.    We celebrate the healthy ones, but our work is with those who need more care...

Mercury was groomed and waiting for President Pam who was at the shelter bright and early this AM to get him.  He is suffering from what we believe is a severe case of Glaucoma and will need to have his eye removed along what will likely be an extensive dental, and who knows what else his bloodwork reveals after 7 years of living in his own urine and feces with 105 brothers and sisters.

Thank you to Steve who got Mercury from FTL the rest of the way up to Pet Medical Center of Boca to Dr. Huges who was awaiting Mercury's arrival to get him medical attention as quickly as possible.

We will know more about his treatment plan aside from the eye removal after he has been checked out and in the mean time, are back again, after a crazy week, to ask your support to provide a 2nd chance <3

As always, every dollar counts the same toward the funding finish line and even $1 gets us closer to our goal!  Even if you don't have a dollar, your comments alone supports Mercury as well as the more comments we have, the more people see our posts!!  THANK YOU!!!!
