Hurricane Help Needed: We are preparing to brace for Hurricane Florence and expect a disastrous event, something we had hoped we would never have to go through. As Hurricane Florence draws ever closer, it appears we are in the path of imminent danger. Losing power likely for days, if not weeks, is pretty much a given considering the rural area we are in. We are desperately in need of three generators, gas cans, and a ridiculous amount (several hundred feet) of heavy duty extension cords to run from building to building to keep the animals here as safe as possible, especially the senior dogs. Our water supply for 8 horses, 2 cows and currently 40 plus dogs depends upon electricity. All dogs will be brought inside, including our sanctuary feral crew, and crated but the buildings will overheat quickly and become dangerous if not fatal. We are expecting extremely warm temperatures well into the 90’s for the foreseeable future. The animals can not stay outside in the weather and winds that are coming our way and they can NOT survive without water. Please HELP! Help is needed RIGHT NOW.
