Dear Facebook friends, family and community,

I don’t post on Facebook a lot, but God has put it on my heart to make this request. While I was recently visiting my parents in Charleston a storm came through and damaged the home of a woman, Virginia Garcia, just a few miles from where I grew up according to the news article http://www.abcnews4.com/story/29472108/tree-falls-on-home-during-severe-thunderstorm-on-james-island .The home was paid for, but the family had not purchased insurance. The home has been marked as unsafe, so she is not allowed to live there until repairs are made and she does not currently have the money to remove the tree or repair the damage. After reflecting on the incredible way that the Charleston, SC community handled the killings at the AME church in downtown Charleston, it broke my heart to see someone in this community have to face this ordeal without some help. Although the article states that a neighbor was setting up a crowdfunding account to help cover the cost of the tree removal and repair, I have not seen one yet, so I am starting one on FundRazr. I hope you will consider joining me to help Virginia by donating if you are able and by sharing this request with your friends.
