3 month old Rylan needs your help. After we pulled him from a kill shelter in the South, he developed several health issues and nearly died in the veterinary ICU. The vet bills are staggering, and Rylan hopes you will donate to help pay for his care.

Animal Care and Welfare is a 501c3 companion animal rescue organization located in the Greater Pittsburgh area. For nearly 45 years, Animal Care and Welfare has worked tirelessly to help animals. We have literally saved hundreds of shelter animals through our rescue animal adoption program.

Rylan came from an overcrowded rural shelter in South Carolina. As luck would have it, Rylan was brought in as a stray while our volunteers were there pulling dogs and cats. The tiny pup was about 6 weeks old, very thin, and scared.

After he came north to our rescue, we learned that Rylan had several issues: an upper respiratory infection, ringworm, and a yeast infection on his ears.   After a series of antibiotics, Rylan seemed to be making great progress when he suddenly went into respiratory distress.  Rylan was rushed to an emergency veterinary clinic. He had developed double pneumonia and was near death.  He was placed on a ventilator in the ICU for four days.  It was touch and go, but brave little Rylan pulled through.

Rylan's vet bill was over $2500.  We are a small rescue and any money donated to this campaign will be used toward the cost of Rylan's emergency vet bill.  You can help pay for this courageous little dog's care.  Please donate to help and please share Rylan's story.
