Standard Academy Primary School, Uganda, apart from being an incredible place to teach and learn, currently has numerous orphans who will soon be cut off mid-education due the lack of any type of family support to pay fees. Having taught at Standard for the last 10 weeks, we have got to know both the children and staff and can safely say that it is one the most amazing places we have ever had the luck to visit. The relentless positivity of all concerned is staggering and we have never met children who are quite so hard-working and appreciative of their education.

Currently, the director funds the orphans; this leads to teachers often not getting paid and this obviously results in a bad cycle and one that we would love to prevent.

So, the numbers. £30 funds one child for a whole year. There are 13 orphans at Standard who we want to help. By help, we hope to raise enough money to fund the completion of their primary education, resulting in qualifications and much better quality of oppurtunity. Although our initial target would be great to meet, were we to raise more, we could support other massively under-privilieged children who come from extreme poverty.

Any donation would make a huge difference to the lives of these children and would be massively appreciated by all. Thank you for any support!
