My name is Maria Barile, and last year, I was unexpectedly diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. It was a life-changing moment, but I consider myself incredibly blessed. I'm receiving cutting-edge treatment at Princess Margaret Cancer Hospital, where I have the opportunity to take part in a clinical trial that offers hope for my future.
Throughout this journey, I've been surrounded by the unwavering love and support of my incredible medical team, my devoted husband, my amazing daughters, and our extended family. Their strength has helped carry me through every challenge.
This year, I am proud to be an ambassador for Brave Day- a powerful event supporting local cancer care. To show their love and support, my husband and daughter will be rappelling 170 feet from the top of the historic CIBC building in downtown Windsor on Saturday June 21, 2025. They are stepping up in the most courageous way to help raise $3000 in support of local cancer patients like me.
