Thank you so much for supporting the Whatcom Human Rights Task Force

The Whatcom Human Rights Task Force is a presence felt throughout the community -- our work in 2019 included:

  • 21st Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Human Rights Conference
  • Housing the Human Family Summit & Follow-up
  • Partnership with Bellingham Public Schools:
    • Joining Hands Against Hate campaign
    • Book discussion groups
    • Professional development
  • System Racism Mapping Project
  • Consulting with the City of Bellingham
  • Hosting monthly meetings and potluck dinners
  • International Human Rights Day Celebration
  • Fiscal sponsorship for community events and projects:
    • Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Unity Ball
    • Annual Juneteenth Celebrations
    • Hiroshima Library

In the years to come, we look at not only continuing this work, but growing to include new educational opportunities for our beloved community.

All of this costs money -- we operate entirely with volunteers and donations from the community.  Please help us as we strive to continue this work.  Whether you can afford $5.00 or $500.00, any amount is deeply appreciated; all donations are received with much gratitude and go directly and entirely to the work we do for our community.

We also welcome your attendance at any of our monthly meetings, where you can learn more about what we are currently working on, and join us in this work.

We are so grateful to share the evening with you tonight in honor of International Human Rights Day, and look forward to see you in the community in the months and years to come.

Sincerely,

The Whatcom Human Rights Task Force
