It’s the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting – Paulo Coelho

Dear Friends and Friends of Friends,

Have you ever felt held back by lack of time, money or resources and wished you could clone yourself or if someone could just pop in and help so you could get everything done?

I have been accepted to a 6 weeks long Full Time Producing for VFX Course at Pearson College’s Escape Studios. The course catapults its students into the industry where they can start working at a high level right out of the gate.

The original price for the course was almost £6000, however, after some interviews, I got offered one of the limited places on a subsidised price only offered for those who are really motivated in evolving into great VFX producers. I even received a bursary.

It felt like, after long years of waiting, finally finding the door.  The door that will help to make my dreams come true.

Doing the math, the only catch is money. Funding 6 weeks’ living cost in London is rather expensive. This is a once in a lifetime offer and the clock is ticking course starts on the 4th of February. I am appealing to you to help with my maintenance.

A bit about me:

I remember watching Never Ending Story as a child and being utterly carried away by the magic of the fantasy world. Films and animation quickly became my obsession and I have been dreaming ever since of becoming one of the many few who can create this kind of magic.

Following my dreams, I studied animation as well as film and media in Hungary. But after graduating, I just couldn’t find my place. I felt restricted and I didn’t know enough about the world to figure out how I can reach my goals. The economy was collapsing in Eastern Europe, therefore, film industry as we know it barely existed and being a woman was not helpful either.

So in 2012, after graduation, I packed my luggage and hopped on a flight to London to re-invent myself in a new world. A couple of years flew by while I was settling in, picking up the language, doing exhausting catering jobs for low pay, often 50+ hours a week ending up with health issues meanwhile volunteering at Film Festivals. I found myself facing the daunting question ‘Should I follow my dream to become a filmmaker and be one of the dream makers or should I follow a more conventional career path?

I decided to follow my dreams. I started to do research, talked to people in the industry and looked for a course that could put me on the right path, and as a result, I found Escape Studios.

As a VFX producer, I would be able to bring more magic into other’s life. Not to mention, I am the kind of person and woman who wants to bring a change to the world, both in helping creative minds from underrepresented countries and advocating for women in the Industry. I believe film is a medium which can highly support diversity.

Why I Need Your Help

When in December I received the email offering me the course including a bursary with the start date fixed on 4th February 2019! I felt euphoric and a bit astounded.

I have done my calculations and decided to turn to you for help!

The course fee and my 6 weeks’ maintenance in London add up to almost £2000. During these 6 weeks, regarding the highly demanding nature of the course, I cannot work. I would like to dedicate all my attention and give all my energy to the course so I can deliver a high-quality project by the end of the sixth week that would enable me to land a decent job right away.

I would be grateful for any donation however small or large it is. Pennies make a pound. I would also appreciate each and every one of you, who can’t afford to donate, to share this message and put the word out so it might reach someone who can.

Last but not least, my birthday is coming up on the 24th of February. If you have ever felt like making a Birthday Girl happy, your help would draw the widest and happiest smile on my face.

Thank you so much for reading.
