Aramis had a Lot of things stacked against him...he was a stray on the streets Puerto Rico, he has nobody to love him, and he was suffering from a pretty horrific set of conditions...a Perineal hernia that got so bad it tore his rectal wall.

We have managed to explain a lot of conditions over the years, but need some help on this one.  “A Perineal hernia is a hernia involving the perineum (pelvic floor). The hernia may contain fluid, fat, any part of the intestine, the rectum, or the bladder. It is known to occur in humans, dogs, and other mammals, and often appears as a sudden swelling to one side (sometimes both sides) of the anus.”

Aramis was not neutered and the testosterone in his system ate through not one, but all three layers of skin on his anus from straining “to go” with the hernia.

After getting off the plane, Aramis went straight to Dr Wemen at Everglades Animal Hospital who examined him and diagnosed the issue and then was transfereed to Dr Moore at Broward Veterinary Specialists for surgery.

We have had some pretty rough conditions and “torn anal wall” are not words that we use often. We are hoping we have not totally grossed anyone out and that after helping Mercury and Millie this week, our community has some DRSF love left to help Aramis

As always, every dollar counts and gets us closer to our goal and even if you are not able to donate, your comment alone helps too as the more comments we have the more people see our feed!
