Oregon Law Students’ Public Interest Fund (OLSPIF) is a student organization at UO Law School that provides stipends to students working in unpaid positions with public interest organizations that would otherwise struggle to meet staffing needs.

It's Bend Marathon season again!

This year, I want to commemorate my beloved law school tradition by running to raise money for the Oregon Law Students Public Interest Fund (OLSPIF). That's right, I am asking you to help me run FOR the law!

A bit about OLSPIF: Through the fundraising efforts of University of Oregon law students, OLSPIF provides $4,000 stipends to qualified students who accept positions with public interest organizations and would otherwise be unpaid. Not only do OLSPIF stipends help broke law students pay the rent, they incentivize students to gain experience in the public interest sector while helping public interest organizations fill their staffing needs. With the financial support that an OLSPIF stipend provides, law students are able to hone their practical legal skills and gain the experience they need to become strong advocates for under-represented communities. Please visit the OLSPIF webpage for more info!

With our country steeped in a salty brine of disagreement these days, it is more important than ever to give support to future leaders that want to use their legal education to help those in need. Please consider donating whatever you can to OLSPIF this year and help the next generation of lawyers prepare themselves for careers serving the public interest!
