The Pegasus Sanctuary is run by Felicity Taylor in rural Normandy, France, where she takes care of many equines, dogs and cats. At the moment, Felicity is providing care for 10 donkeys.

Our current fund-raiser is for Katia, who is the most affectionate and loving donkey. She has had big problems with her feet since being rescued by the Pegasus Sanctuary, but recently she had an infection in one of her front feet which only made matters worse. Katia had already been on stable rest for 2 weeks under ongoing veterinary supervision, but with no real improvement she had to be taken to the vet clinic for X-rays on her foot to find out the cause of the problem.

The X-ray showed the problem resulted from prolonged chronic laminitis (from the years before she came to The Pegasus Sanctuary), which caused the frog and surrounding area in her front foot to become necrotic. Katia now has a plaster cast on her foot and is on box rest for 2 weeks. Happily, the prognosis is good.

As you can imagine, the vet bills for all this are going to be big, so any amount you can give will be greatly appreciated and will go towards paying Katia's vet bills.

Those of you who know Felicity will also know that she often goes short in order to pay for the needs of the animals in her care. Her savings are gone after years of rescuing equines, so any amount you can give will help the animals at The Pegasus Sanctuary.

Thank you in advance :)
