Tax-Deductible Donations to Notes On The Crises!
Notes on the Crises, created and run by renowned independent scholar and journalist Nathan Tankus, is dedicated to investigating the functioning and structure of our government and the economic system. To do so we seek out sources in our investigative journalism work, look through government documents, send FOIA requests, undertake archival research, interview experts and more. It is our belief that there are positive synergistic benefits to using academic research alongside historical archival methods, investigative journalistic tools and a deep reservoir of existing knowledge in producing impactful contemporary research.
This year Notes on the Crises broke multiple critical stories about DOGE’s activities at the United States Treasury and in the U.S. payments system . New York City even rewrote a major lawsuit of the Trump administration based on a legal research memo that Notes on the Crises commissioned. Nobel memorial prize winning Economist Paul Krugman declared Nathan to be the “ man of the moment” in February. Since then he has seen fit to conduct not one , but two video interviews (with transcripts) with Nathan for his own newsletter.
Your tax-deductible donation helps support these ongoing activities and the expansion of Notes on the Crises’ investigative efforts. It also ensures that Notes on the Crises’ Chelsea Manhattan office continues to be a hub for students, journalists, activists and others to become more educated about the intersection of economics, politics and the law.
Thank you for your generosity and support.
